Salt Lake’s pujas are organised by block — FD Block, AE Part 2, BJ Block, IB Block — and they are newer, better funded and much easier to move between than the pujas of the old city. New Town and Rajarhat have added their own since 2010.
If you have one evening and do not want to fight crowds, this is the practical choice.

Worth knowing
- Easier to move between than any other part of the city.
- Parking is actually possible here, which is not true anywhere else.
- The block pujas compete seriously and the design standard is high.
- It is a sensible choice for an evening with children or elderly relatives.
